A group of 987 Dutch Jews were transported to Auschwitz, one of the Nazi's many concentration camps. During the Holocaust, over two million people were killed in Auschwitz alone. The majority were killed in gas chambers, but many also died from starvation, forced labor, disease, individual executions, and 'so-called' medical experiments. In addition to 6 million Jews, the Nazi's also murdered millions of non-Jewish people, including Soviet prisoners of war, political prisoners, Jehovah's Witnesses, people of color, Gypsies, gay people, mentally ill people and physically disabled people. Adolf Hitler was determined to purify the Aryan Race by slaughtering every person who didn't fit the bill.
