The Continental Army was formed in order to fight the American Revolutionary War. Although it was disbanded after the war in favor of State Militias, it's descendent, the U.S. Army, was formed by Congress 9 years later. Today, the U.S. Army has become the largest branch of America's Armed Forces and uses aggressive recruiting tactics to attract more soldiers. Opponents of the Army's recruitment strategies claim they are manipulative and deceitful, and that they target working class communities by offering benefits that many low-income people are otherwise denied. These military contracts often have catches, and they are also unilateral, meaning the military can alter the contents at any time.
