Henry D. Marrow Jr., a young black man, was violently murdered by three white men in Oxford, North Carolina, causing racial tensions to escalate. During the trial, Henry Marrows’ attackers claimed Marrow had made a pass at one of their wives in a local grocery store, prompting them to beat Marrow with a plank before shooting him in the head. Even though one of the men eventually admitted to pulling the trigger, he insisted it was an accident and the all white Southern jury found all the three men “not guilty” on all charges. And you wonder why a lot of people have absolutely no faith in the American Justice System.
