The Community News Production Institute in partnership with Global Movements Urban Struggles aired its monthly show on Tuesday June 24th on Pacifica station WBAI, 99.5 on your FM dial. The show featured voices from the fourth-annual National Conference for Media Reform held in Minneapolis early this month, the first ever National Congress held by domestic workers in NYC, and the impact gentrification is having on drummers in Harlem. In an effort to highlight the significant contribution Caribbean-Americans have been bringing to this country, the show was largely dedicated to two Pan Women who gave ample details about the popular music instrument known as the steel drum or steel pan, which first originated from Trinidad.
This month's show was hosted by Donald Antonyson (Families For Freedom) and Christine Lewis (Domestic Workers United), and produced by Abdulai Bah and Kat Aaron.
